About the Library

Internal view of Pelham Bay

The Pelham Bay Branch of The New York Public Library opened in 1976 with the enthusiastic support of community leaders who fought to see it become a reality. The branch is a spacious brick building located on the corner of Middletown Road and Jarvis Avenue. It serves a large and diverse community in the Pelham Bay and Country Club sections of the Bronx.
