Library Closings

The Van Cortlandt Library will be closed on Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 to facilitate branch improvements. During this period we encourage you yo use the Kingsbridge Library located at 291 West 231st Street, Bronx, NY 10463, the Jerome Library located at 118 Eames Place (near Kingsbridge Rd.), Bronx, NY 10468, Mosholu Library located at 285 East 205th Street (near Perry Ave.), Bronx, NY 10467 and the Spuyten Duyvil Library located at 650 W. 235th St. (at Independence Ave.), Bronx, NY 10463. We will re-open on Wednesday, May 29th, 2013 at 11:00am.

The Ninety-Sixth Street Branch will close down temporarily to facilitate the installation of new equipment needed for heating and cooling of the branch. The branch will reopen in the fall. The outdoor drop box will remain open while the branch is closed.

While construction is being done, we encourage you to visit the following nearby branches, which have had their public service hours increased:

YORKVILLE — 222 East 79th St. (between 2nd and 3rd Ave)
Mon 10-7, Tue 10-7, Wed 10-7, Thu 10-7, Fri 10-5, Sat 10-5

AGUILAR — 174 East 110th St. (between 3rd and Lexington Ave)

All holds originally set for pickup at our branch will be delivered to the Yorkville Library for the duration of our closing. See information on selecting an alternative pickup location.

As of August 30, 2008, The Donnell Library Center is closed. Please visit one of the other branches of The New York Public Library.

The Tompkins Square Library will be closed from May 20-27 to facilitate Branch improvements. During this period we encourage you to use the Ottendorfer Branch at 135 Second Avenue (near East 8th - St. Marks Place) or the Hamilton Fish Branch at 415 East Houston Street (near Avenue D). We will reopen for regular service on Tuesday May 28th at 11AM.

The Washington Heights Library is projected to reopen in late 2013 after a major renovation.

As of April 15, 2010, The Stapleton Branch is closed for a full renovation. Please visit one of our nearby branches.
