Use the search fields below to find hundreds of organizations in New York City that can provide you with help in starting or running your small business. Included in this searchable database are programs which offer business advice, loans, grants, location assistance, and a wide range of other services for small businesses throughout the city — often at no cost or for a low fee.
Independent, local level small and high-risk minority and/or women-owned businesses are eligible to apply for small, low cost loans via the Springboard Mini-Loan Fund. The loans are available for small businesses located in Community Boards 1,2,3,4,7,8,11 or 12 and can be applied for at the BOEDC office. Start-up and existing minority and women-owned businesses are eligible. Loans can be used for working capital, acquisition of machinery and equipment, revolving lines of credit, seasonal inventory and accounts receivable. For additional information contact Rome Birkett.
Start Small’s mission is to empower New York City’s most underserved individuals to start, maintain, and grow small businesses in order to accumulate assets, increase personal financial security, and contribute to the economy. Start Small provides access to a variety of resources for entrepreneurs and immigrants: small business financing, small business legal counseling, small business planning and operations, accounting and bookkeeping, tax, marketing and public relations, human resources, and government certification and contracting.

The Subcontractors Trade Association promotes and protects the interests of subcontractors. The Association conducts regularly scheduled membership meetings and seminars.
The Sunshine Bronx Business Incubator is the first City-sponsored, privately operated incubator, created to bring entrepreneurs to the South Bronx. It offers world-class technology, security and a wide array of business services designed to nurture startups and give them the tools they need to succeed. These include; modular/flexible workspaces; mentoring and consulting services; high-speed internet wireless/ethernet access; and group meeting/conference rooms. Sunshine is a joint venture between the New York City Economic Development Corp., Sunshine Suites and Sunshine’s strategic partners from government, business and academic institutions. Sunshine Bronx’s operating hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Closed weekends and all national holidays. Hours are subject to change for special events and community needs. Two companion incubators – Sunshine Noho and Sunchine TriBeCa West – are located in Manhattan.
