Use the search fields below to find hundreds of organizations in New York City that can provide you with help in starting or running your small business. Included in this searchable database are programs which offer business advice, loans, grants, location assistance, and a wide range of other services for small businesses throughout the city — often at no cost or for a low fee.
This SBDC offers free individualized counseling, specializing in start-ups and expansions. Services include assistance with business plans, marketing plans, financial planning and loan packaging. Also offered are topical workshops on a variety of business related issues, including marketing, franchising and exporting. Note: There are other SBDCs throughout the City. The SBDC offers free one-on-one counseling to business owners and entrepreneurs. Services include: financial analysis, loan evaluation and packaging, management analysis, business plan development and export assistance. Business seminars and workshops are offered regularly. The Pace University Small Business Development Center specializes in providing, free of charge, one-on-one counseling to existing businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. This counseling focuses on the development of superior business plans and locating appropriate sources of funding to put the clients' enterprises on a sound financial basis. The Entrepreneurial Development Program (EDP), provides training, technical assistance and business development resources to start-up and existing businesses. The goal is to assist budding entrepreneurs to establish businesses; assist small business owners to retain their business. The program provides classroom training in basic business and entrepreneurship principles as well as individual technical, financial and management assistance.
SoBRO is a not-for-profit organization offering services designed to: Provide education, work readiness and employment programs for adults; Provide existing and newly established businesses with technical assistance, programs and services designed to enhance their ability to compete in the marketplace; and Engage in pro-active community assessment, planning and advocacy in order to strengthen the local economic environment.
