Photocopies and PDFs of newspaper and journal articles, patents, proceedings, government documents, reports, and book excerpts from one of the world's largest repositories can be immediately supplied. We have links to document suppliers around the world, enabling us to obtain virtually any document.

Additonally full texts of public domain books can be scanned and delivered via email as a PDF. Restrictions would apply based on condition and fragility of item.  Full texts from copyrighted books may also be provided if written clearance is obtained from rights holder.


Your document needs can be quickly filled through the Library's world-renowned research collections. Items in the collections can generally be found in the Library catalog, our online catalog, or other electronic resources. Please note that many older items, and government documents in particular, may not be in our online catalog. Please contact us if you do not find what you are looking for.

Notice Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
