Book Scanning

NYPL is now offering scanning of public domain books and manuscript material.
Items are available currently as JPEGs at 1500 pixels on the long side burned to a CD only.

Please note that not all bound volumes can be digitized via the Library's book scanner due to size or condition.  Special handling digital photography may be available.

To place a request, please fill out the Order Form (pdf), which can be returned via mail, fax, attached to an email, or in person. Orders cannot be processed without a completed form.

PRICING FOR SCANNING BOUND VOLUMES:

Book scanner: $100.00 for up to 300 pages and $0.30 per page thereafer.
Turnaround time is 4 weeks.

Special handling digital photography for bound volumes: $175.00 for up to 300 pages and $1.00 per page thereafter.
Turnaround time is 6 to 8 weeks.
