You may request that items from certain on-site collections at our four Research Centers be reserved for you prior to your visit. Please note that you will need a New York Public Library Card when you arrive in order to consult your items. All Research Center items are available for in-library use only.

What to Include
Copying and pasting direct links from the Classic Catalog of the items you need will work best. When requesting items with multiple volumes, please specify which volumes you need.
If you are unable to copy and paste, please include all of the following information:
- Full and exact call number
- Author (if available)
- Volume number (if requesting a multi-volume item)
When You Arrive
Please visit the Research Center and division that owns the item you requested and speak to our staff at the reference desk. Any materials not called for or picked up within 7 days will return to that Research Center's stacks that evening to make them available for other readers.
Please note that occasionally, requested items may not be available. We will make every effort to contact you before you arrive should this occur. Feel free to call us at the appropriate telephone number below before you arrive to ensure the item was found on is on the reserve shelf for you.
