Rose Main Reading Room Ceiling Restoration

Rose Main Reading Room Construction

The New York Public Library’s Rose Main Reading Room and Bill Blass Public Catalog Room are closed temporarily for restoration of their historic ceilings.

The project, which began this summer following a full assessment of the historic rooms, will repair slight cracking in the ceiling facades and will secure the rooms’ iconic plaster rosettes. The Bill Blass Public Catalog Room is expected to reopen in fall 2016 and the Rose Main Reading Room in early 2017.
