Join us as we celebrate one of Harlem’s finest, restaurateur Melba Wilson, who will discuss and sign copies of her new book, Melba's American Comfort: 100 Recipes from My Heart to Your Kitchen here at the Schomburg Center. Fresh from the kitchen of her legendary Harlem restaurant, Melba’s, the reigning queen of American comfort food serves up one hundred delectable recipes that put her own special touch on favorite dishes—and taste just like home.

Wilson is the owner of a growing culinary empire in New York’s Harlem neighborhood. Her renowned restaurant, Melba’s, is a hot spot for celebrities, locals and tourists from around the world who crave unbeatable American comfort food. She began her career at Sylvia’s Restaurant, where she launched the popular Sunday Gospel Brunch, and has earned numerous accolades and awards for her entrepreneurship and her original and family recipes. She was also featured in the short documentary, Harlem On My Plate, produced by Powerhouse Productions and inspired by Schomburg Center collections. She lives in New York with her son.
