Baroque Music at Home

Event Details

Viol and viola player Elizabeth Weinfield and baroque violinist Jude Ziliak are ascendant performers and scholars of 16th-18th-century music and historical performance practice. They are members of the critically acclaimed viol consort Sonnambula, among other leading early music ensembles. They are also newlyweds! Instead of spending this Saturday afternoon making music in their home, Elizabeth and Jude turn The Library's Bruno Walter Auditorium into their parlor, sharing conversation, fascinating stories from music history, and some of their favorite pieces to play together. Among the works they will perform is "Pieces for the Viola da Gamba" by Karl Freidrich Abel (1770), a treasured masterwork whose manuscript resides in The Library for the Performing Arts' collection.
