Dissecting Light: A Conversation and Demonstration with Lighting Designer Beverly Emmons

Tony Award winner Beverly Emmons has created lighting designs for dance, theater, and opera, including such noteworthy productions as Einstein on the Beach at the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway shows from Amadeus to Annie Get Your Gun, as well as with dance performances by Merce Cunningham, Bill T. Jones, and the Martha Graham company. Emmons comes to the library to talk about her craft and to offer a live demonstration of her tools. Participate in a closeup exploration of how theatrical lighting instruments work.

This event takes place in the Library for the Performing Arts' Cafe, on the first floor, Lincoln Center plaza level. Enter via the Cafe entrance by ascending the stairs at the corner of Amsterdam Ave. and West 65th St. Those who are mobility impaired may enter via 111 Amsterdam Ave.
