An Intimate Look at Lucian Freud

Date and Time
November 10, 2014
Event Details

Photographer David Dawson will discuss his book, "A Painter's Progress: A Portrait of Lucian Freud" with British art historian and biographer Sir John Richardson. For nearly twenty years Dawson was Lucian Freud’s assistant, companion, and model, until Freud's death in 2011. The fiercely private painter avoided distraction while he worked, but Dawson became the exception to the rule, photographing the progress of Freud's paintings as part of their daily ritual. Spend the evening in the company of two of Freud's closest friends as they trace the evolution of this extraordinary artist and his creations.
