Ukulele 101: Strings and Things

Program Locations:

This two week session explores ukulele from a beginner's eyes, including identifying the parts of the ukulele, how to hold and strum the instrument, and how to form, read and identify ukulele chords. We'll learn some techniques such as plucking and ultimately, will play a few classic songs on the ukulele. Please bring your own ukulele, though there will be a couple on hand to share. Music will be provided (for soprano / concert / tenor style ukuleles, not baritone at this time). This course is recommended for ages 8-10 and all the way up, though parents are welcome bring younger people to observe and enjoy. Come meet your neighborhood uke lovers. Advanced ukulele players welcome.
