The Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) Bullying Prevention Center is committed to systemically changing the environmental forces that contribute to bullying and harassment.  Our parent program, “Bullying & Cyber Bullying: How to Best Support Our Kids” provides parents with immediate strategies on how to productively work with their child’s school and advocate for those who feel targeted.  The goal of this 90-minute program is to empower parents with the language and tools to resolve off and on line cases of bullying and best support their children.  Founded in 1982, CAPS is Long Island’s leading non-profit resource on the prevention of child abuse and neglect, bullying prevention, and provider of youth violence prevention and child safety education to all K-12 Nassau and Suffolk schools.

Kara Santucci is CAPS Bullying Prevention Specialist.  She responds to all of CAPS Helpline calls and emails regarding bullying and harassment.  Kara holds a Masters in School Counseling.  An experienced school counselor in high schools on Long Island and Westchester, she has also worked on the college level as an admissions counselor, and with early intervention pre-school children and their families.  Kara is a trainer for the NYS Mandated Reporter Courses:  The Recognition and Reporting of Child Abuse & Neglect, S.A.V.E.: Schools Against Violence in Education, and The Dignity Act Training Course in Harassment, Bullying and Discrimination in Schools.  She is also a certified Olweus Bullying Prevention Trainer.
