Real Deal Comics with Ivan Velez

Program Locations:

For ages 13 to 18 years

Learn to craft manga and comics with messages of diversity, love, tolerance and acceptance with artist Ivan Velez.
Creativity-based workshops in NYPL branches across Manhattan and the Bronx include a presentation from the artist about their work, a discussion about the role art plays within the AIDS movement, and an opportunity for teens to make art. For ages 12 to 18 years old. 


"In support of the New York Public Library's exhibition, Why We Fight:Remembering AIDS Activism, Visual AIDS has organized an interactive series which uses art-making to connect young adults with vital information about HIV while exploring the history of AIDS Activism."
