Chang-er flies to the Moon

March 1, 2014

Conceived by: Kuang-Yu Fong, Stephen Kaplin & Ron Sopyla
Directed by: Kuang-Yu Fong
Year: 2012

Chang-Er Flies to the Moon recounts the timeless legend of the Chinese Moon goddess and her husband, the archer/hero Ho Yi. Chinese Theatre Works’ adaptation of this ancient tale of supernatural love caught up in conflict with Heaven and Earth uses overhead projector shadow puppetry, with images and figures modeled on traditional Chinese shadow figures, with a dash of zany humor!
