Financial Information, Money Matters @NYPL: Immigration, Money & Taxes: Know Before You Owe
December 10, 2013
Science, Industry and Business Library (SIBL), Conference Room 018
The decision to get a green card or US citizenship is a big one. Many factors need to be considered, among them the financial and taxation consequences of the decision. There are many advantages in these areas to stepping up your immigration status, but with that comes new responsibilities and potential pitfalls.
Simon Brady discusses the financial and fiscal fallout from changes in immigration status. The presentation will be of interest not only to those seeking resident alien status or US citizenship, but also for anyone whose spouse is a foreign national.
Simon Brady, CFP® is a fully-qualified financial planner based in the New York City area. He has developed a particular specialty in the often complex and specific financial planning needs of non-citizens and expats in the United States as well as increasingly-complicated foreign account reporting requirements. Originally from London, Simon is both a UK and a US citizen.
Seating is on a first come, first seated basis unless otherwise noted.
