New York Veteran History Series: Our Stories to Tell
Both New York Public Library and StoryCorps have been collecting audio interviews of veterans of U.S. wars from WWII to Operation Enduring Freedom. These unique narratives are often in sharp contrast to the portrayals of war in movies, newspapers, and popular media. Please join us for a special panel of NYC veterans as they share their personal military experiences and discuss how veterans and military life are represented in our popular culture.
The panel will be moderated by Nhu Tien Lu from the Military Voices Initiative at StoryCorps. This panel is produced in collaboration with StoryCorps and Jesse Williams of John Jay College Student Veterans.
Robert Cohen, United States Army (1943 - 1945)
Maurice Decaul, United States Marine Corps (1997 - 2003)

Kristen Rouse, United States Army (1994 - 2013)
*This panel is free and open to the public. Please arrive early to make sure you get a seat.
