The Warriors (1979, 92 min) is a cult film directed by Walter Hill based on Sol Yurick's 1965 The Warriors with both borrowing elements from Xenophon’s Anabasis. Cyrus, the leader of the most powerful gang in New York City, calls a midnight summit of all area gangs, but then he is murdered and The Warriors are framed for it. Now they must pass through gang territory to try and return safely to Coney Island.
