The Bronx Defenders - Highbridge Summer Youth Justice Project
The purpose of this project is to teach the students about civic and community engagement, social justice and the law. This will be an invaluable educational and professional opportunity for the youth. Each class will be staffed by at least two Bronx Defenders. As such the Youth will have an opportunity to learn and grtow from the holistic staff of Bronx Defenders, which includes lawyers, social workers, advocates and community organizers. We will utilize the arts, social science and mathematics in a fun, entertaining and engaging way to teach and involve the youth about critical concepts related to their professional and educational future, as well as focusing on methods to develop and foster a better and brighter community.
