1970s New York City on Film: The Godfather

Please join us on Wednesday, June 26 at 6 p.m. for a screening of Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather (1972, 175 min) in the first floor corner room of Mid-Manhattan Library.

All film screenings are FREE and each program includes an introduction to the film as well as a guided discussion afterwards. Seating is first-come, first-served and doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The Godfather (1972, 175 min), directed by Francis Ford Coppola, is based on Mario Puzo's 1969 novel, The Godfather. The film presents a powerful New York crime family from 1945 to 1955 and centers on the transformation of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) from reluctant family outsider to ruthless Mafia boss while also chronicling the Corleone family under the patriarch Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando).
