¡Wikipedia con Sabor Latino! An edit-a-thon devoted to Latin-American music

Event Details

In conjunction with the exhibit "American Sabor: Latinos in US Popular Music," the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts invites all and especially the Latino community to an edit‑a‑thon devoted to Latin‑American music. Come and help us improve documentation and access to performing arts information on Wikipedia---one of the most frequently-used websites in the world!

The event will take place in the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts on the third floor Reserve Film and Video Room. Stay for the entire afternoon or drop in at any time between 12 noon and 5 pm. Bring your own laptop or iPad if at all possible. NYPL staff will be on hand to provide information and instruction on using our research collections. Volunteer Wikipedians will be present to provide support and instruction on editing Wikipedia. Wiki editing skills not required; passion for Latino culture and performing arts highly recommended!

The emphasis will be on improving content related to Latin-American music and other performing arts though editors may work on whatever they choose. If you don't have a library card, start the application process online and pick up your card on Saturday.
