Event Details

Doo-Wop Rock and Roll took the country by storm in the 1950s, and the Bronx was no exception. This unusual topic will be the presentation of Prof Victor Mastro as he will speak about groups that started out in the Bronx and made it big. These groups will be discussed: Dion & The Belmonts, Larry Chance & The Earls, The Embers, The Summits, The Clicketts, the Decoys,  The Demensions, The Duvals, The Tremains, Little Bobby Rivera and the Hemlocks, The Mellows, Lillian Leach, The Excellents, and more. A slide show of Prof Mastro's collages will be presented along with music from these groups. For those who wish to go back in time, and for a new generation who hadn't heard the music before, this special program you will remember for a long time after.
