National Preservation Week 2013: Caring for Your Home Photo and Paper-Based Collections

Presenters: Shelly Smith, Head of Conservation Treatment, and Erin Murphy, Photograph Conservator, Barbara Goldsmith Preservation Division, New York Public Library.

Hear two of NYPL’s conservators give their top tips on how individuals and families can care for their treasures. This presentation will focus on proper housing and storage of collections in a home environment, providing simple advice that anyone can follow to prolong the life of books, paper documents, and photographs. Please note that no conservation treatments will be demonstrated in this session.

This presentation is one of a series of public events sponsored by NYPL’s Barbara Goldsmith Preservation Division as part of the American Library Association’s National Preservation Week.
