Event Details
AARP-Tax Aide:  Free Tax Return Preparation Service at 67th Street Library
Times: Fridays, February 1 through April 12, 2013 from 10:30am to 2:30pm

AARP volunteers, who are certified by the IRS, prepare all returns.  There is no cost to you for preparation and no cost to you for electronic filing (e-file).  Certain returns with voluminous data or less common types of income, credits or deductions are beyond the scope of the AARP program.
Some materials you should bring with you are:
Last year’s Federal and State income tax return.
Social Security Cards for you, your spouse & dependents.
Tax information statements summarizing your 2012 income: Forms W-2, Forms 1099 for: Social Security payments, interest, retirement benefits, and annual tax statements from brokers, etc.
Details including any support for deductions and credits: medical, childcare, education, etc.; which must be totaled and summarized.
Any other materials that you believe may be pertinent to your 2012Federal or State taxes.
Remember: First come, first served.  The best way to have your return completed in a single session is to arrive early and to bring all of your materials with you.  To avoid clients having to wait and then not have their returns started and completed, we may stop taking new arrivals well before 2:30 PM if the volume of clients already waiting is such that the new arrivals cannot be served that day.
