Andrei Tarkovsky: The Mirror

Please join us on Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m. for Andrei Tarkovsky's The Mirror (1974, 106 min) in the first floor corner room of Mid-Manhattan Library.

This film is part of the series Three Auteurs of World Cinema. All screenings are FREE and seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The Mirror (1975, 106 min) is Andrei Tarkovsky’s most intensely personal and autobiographical work. The unconventionally-structured film incorporates poems written and read by the director's father, Arseny Tarkovsky, alongside childhood memories, dreams, and newsreel footage. The cinematography flows from color to black-and-white and back again. Tarkovsky’s said of the film, "It is the story of my mother and thus part of my own life...The film contains only genuine incidents. It's a confession."
