Since 9/11, talk of a clash of civilizations between “the West” and “the Arab/Muslim East” has remained popular and much not only have Arabs and Muslims across the ocean come under scrutiny, but so have those who call the US home.  What has this clash meant for civil rights and liberties here in the US?  For how we see our shared country and its citizens?  For our foreign policy?  And what has or will change now in the wake of the “Arab Spring,” the US presidential elections, and now that it has been more than a decade since 9/11?
