Financial Information, Money Matters @NYPL: Taking the Mystery Out of Retirement Planning
October 5, 2012
Program Locations:
Science, Industry and Business Library (SIBL), Conference Room 014/015
For many Americans planning for retirement is a mystery. Designed for people who are 10 to 15 years from retirement, this workshop offers a simplified, bottom-line approach to figuring out how much you need to save and how to make your money last over a possibly long retirement.
Valerie Tourso, US Department of Labor discusses:
- Your savings, 401(k) plans, home equity, and other assets
- Your Social Security benefit - and how to decide when to start drawing benefits
- Your spending and expenses now and in retirement
- Filling the gap in your retirement savings
Seating is on a first come, first seated basis unless otherwise noted.
