Merce Cunningham at Black  Mountain College, Digital ID 1619842, New York Public LibraryPhoto courtesy of the Estate of Hazel Larsen ArcherDavid Vaughan, archivist of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and author of Merce Cunningham/65 Years, will introduce and screen two videos of Cunningham's Channels/Inserts in the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Joining Vaughan will be Charles Atlas, the original filmmaker.

Channels/Inserts was originally choreographed especially for the first video which will be shown, and was a collaboration between Merce Cunningham and Charles Atlas. The piece was later adapted for the theater, and the second video will show a live performance of the work at the Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, Massachusetts on July 10, 1993.
