Don’t miss the NYPL Monster Film Fest, a trove of classic horror flicks that take their inspiration from Mary Shelley’s famous novel, Frankenstein, and its even more famous “monster.

A rabbi in medieval Prague constructs a living being out of clay in order to save his community from attacks, but cannot contain the creature as it takes on human emotions, including love.  Based on the timeless Jewish legend of the Golem.  Silent film.  Directed by Paul Wegener; 86 minutes.
