Popular music theme orientation for high school students

New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center
For ages 13 to 18 years

Introduction to popular music research at LPA following the Title I High School students' attendence at a Tuesday noontime Gotham Jazzmen concert in BWA.  They were studying roots music, jazz and rock & roll., so program focused on different ways that popular music could be notated and learned (lead sheets, fake books, transcriptions, oral tradition, etc.).
