The Bronx had always been home to many immigrant groups since the colonial era. Yet in contemporary times, the Latino community has increased substantially since the first major migration, making them the largest minority group in the borough. From the first major arrival of Puerto Ricans in the 1940s, to the present day arrival of people from all over Latin America, The Bronx remains to be the place to stay. Join us as Mr. Angel Hernandez, Education Coordinator of the Bronx Historical Society, talks about the Latino experience in The Bronx along with images to tell the story.
