The Instant Shakespeare Company presents Staged Readings of the works of:

SHAKESPEARE & GEORGE BERNARD SHAW

August 23rd      Comedie of Errors
One of Shakespeare's first plays, this classic comedy of mistaken identity has
two sets of long-lost twins mistaken for each other.

August 30th        Hamlet (First Quarto)
This first published edition of Hamlet is half the length of the other versions of
the play and has many of the famous quotes rephrased. Was this an earlier
draft of the play, or a script that was put together from an actor's memories?

September 6th     Merry Wives of Windsor (Quarto)
This first published version of Shakespeare's comedy of Falstaff in love might
be one of the first sit-coms. The play was supposedly written at the request of
Queen Elizabeth I.

September 13th      The Millionairess by George Bernard Shaw
This delightful comedy has the richest woman in England searching for love.

The Instant Shakespeare Company presents staged readings of plays by
Shakespeare and other theatre classics. Performers stand, scripts in hand and move
around, as they act out the plays with the minimum of rehearsal. They offer a
chance to see rarely-performed classics live on-stage.

Now in its 12th year of performing, The Instant Shakespeare Company (ISC) performs ALL of Shakespeare's plays annually. The company has been featured in Backstage and the New York Times which described it as "Shakespeare on a shoestring, created to engage the newcomer and please the purist."
