Young Lions Screening: Senna
June 22, 2011
Program Locations:
New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center, Bruno Walter Auditorium
Winner of the World Cinema Audience Award for Documentary Film at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, Senna is the story of perhaps the greatest race car driver in history, told solely through the use of archival footage. In the mid-1980s, Ayrton Senna, a young, gifted driver, catapulted to the top of Formula One racing, until tragedy struck. This epic tale that literally twists at every turn will be screened exclusively to Young Lions, followed by a Q&A with the film’s director, Asif Kapadia.
