Halim El-Dabh (photo by Gary Harwood, Kent State University)Halim El-Dabh (photo by Gary Harwood, Kent State University)Live performance of some of the great Egyptian composer/ethnomusicologist's chamber works and screenings of excerpts from his ballets. Performers include pianist Ruzan Asatryan, violinist Luis Casal, soprano Christine Moore,  and pianist Katie Reimer.

 

Works include El-Dabh's solo piano works Coma Dance and It is Dark and Damp on the Front; the New York premiere of Partita Poly-Obligati in Song Cycle for soprano, violin, and piano; and the world premiere of Announcing a New Born - Habeeb H. El-Dabh for unaccompanied voice; as well as screened excerpts from his ballets Lucifer and Clytemnestra.
