Children's Literary Salon - Bringing the Funny

Date and Time
September 11, 2010
Event Details
Genius is never fully appreciated in its time. Humor, however, is quite another matter entirely. Join YA author Libba Bray of the Printz Award winning novel Going Bovine and picture book author (and Simpsons writer) Mike Reiss in conversation as they discuss not just the difficulties in bringing humor to the printed page, but the problems funny books face in the market and the critical world.

This event will be held in the Berger Forum (Room 227)

The Children’s Literary Salon is a monthly gathering of adults who are fans of children’s literature.   Professionals, librarians, authors, illustrators, publishers, booksellers, teachers, and anyone else interested in the field are welcome to attend our meetings.   The Literary Salon provides free Advanced Readers galleys, a rotating series of talks with professionals in the field, and great conversation.   This program is for adults only.
