Mr. Laurents, the playwright whose The Time of the Cuckoo premiered on Broadway 50 years ago this week, will talk about his play as well as the film (Summertime) and musical (Do I hear a Waltz) versions. Mr. Laurents is also author of the plays A Clearing in the Woods and Home of the Brave; and the books for the musicals Gypsy, West Side Story, Anyone Can Whistle, Do I Hear a Waltz, Hallelujah, Baby! and Nick and Nora. He directed the musicals I Can Get It for You Wholesale and La Cage aux Folles. His screenplays include Rope and The Way We Were.
