Experiments in Non-Objective Photography- Photos by Hans Weck

Share

June 5 through August 31, 2012

Program Locations:

Dongan Hills Library

Relying on creative impulses with an emphasis on strong graphic design, Hans Weck’s photos concentrate exclusively on form and pattern.  Weck creates his images in an attempt to define beauty in a very abstract way—an intellectual exercise minimizing emotional content. Motorcycle engines, the Staten Island Ferry Terminal architecture, the 9-11 Memorial and watch mechanisms serve as building blocks for the abstract patterns—the “glass shards” of his imaginary kaleidoscope. Weck has exhibited his work at the Joan & Alan Bernikow Jewish Community Center, the Avis Jewish Community Center and the NYC Cypher Gallery.

The photos of Hans Weck will be on exhibit from June-August 2012 in our Adult Room.
