Photographer Kamia Funchess states, "I believe this generation does not understand the value of a great book and natural research. Through my photos I show a world where, despite ipods and macbooks, some people still participate. There is something about a good book, whether you are 5 or 60 that motivates you to do better in life, or just entertain you. My hope is to remind people that books are still viable."
From the artist Mychel Russel-Ward "Sometimes the pieces develop meaning that was never intended at the time the first brushstroke touches the paper. In that way they often reveal to me the things that I do not see about what goes on in my inner life.
