2 p.m.Calendar Coloring Page Contest
One of the signature things on the Francis Martin Library's Monthly calendar is our coloring page. Every month our artsy children's librarian designs a coloring page for the kids to color in. This time it is different, in this event the children will design their own calendar for the month of August. Those with the best design will win their art on next months issue! All final drawings must be handed to the children's librarian before July 23.

A mini art class and art history lesson for school aged children and their parents. Children will learn about a famous artist and learn his or her techniques. Along with an introduction to acrylic paints children will learn how to create a Monotype, an artist technique that includes transferering pigment from a non-pourous surface to paper.

This is a FREE hands-on, tech-based workshop series for teens. You'll get to use an iPad and clay, pipe cleaners, and other craft materials to create a stop-motion video like you might have seen in Coraline or The Boxtrolls, and along the way you'll learn about how emotion can be depicted, how professionals use armatures, and the elements of a story. Ages 12-18. Space is limited, so please register in advance at the library.

A Summer Reading Celebration. Join us as we travel to India in this interactive, dance and music filled performance/workshop extravaganza.
