Children of all ages are welcomed to take over the library! School Aged children join each other in playing classic Board Games, creating pieces using art supplies. While toddlers and preschoolers can play with building blocks, puzzles or toys that encourage sensory motor and development skills.

3:30 p.m.Paint and Play:Trenton Doyle Hancock and Lorna Simpson
A mini art class and art history lesson for school aged children and their parents. Children will learn about a contemporary artist and make paintings inspired by his/her work. The first session will introduce the work of Trenton Doyle Hancock and second session will be inspired by the work of Lorna Simpson.

In the first half of this program, you will work in pairs to learn basic robot programming. Once you’ve got the basics down, test your knowledge by programming your robot to make it through a series of mazes that are complete with robot swallowing holes! For ages 12 to 18 years old. Presented by David Peins of Robodyssey.

Who was Basquiat? Why are rappers like Kanye West, Jay Z and CyHi the Prynce taking about him?Join us for mini art class and art history lesson for teens and young adults. Teens will learn about American pop artist Jean Michel Basquiat, the social and political commentary made in Basquiat's work and create paintings inspired by his style.

Join us as we travel to India in this interactive, dance and music filled performance/workshop extravaganza. After watching some Mohiniyattam style dance, and listening to Carnatic singing and the music of the tablas, you will have a chance to try out the moves yourself! You will also learn about the origins of these beautiful Indian art forms. Presented by Urban Stages for children 5 years and older.

2 p.m.Zumba with Miriam
Zumba is a mixture of merengue, salsa, cha-cha, cumbia, reggaeton dance mixed with exercise conducted by Miriam. Zumba provides an effective total workout where you can lose body fat, gain muscle, improve posture, alignment and balance and feel more energetic! Participants should wear loose clothing or shorts and sneakers. Miriam is a Zumba certified instructor, AFFA group class instructor and ISSA personal trainer.

In observance of the El Dia De los Niños/El Dia de los libros children are invited to visit the library for a multicultural event filled with folk tales from around the world and crafts. As a finale children will create artwork that will be used as props for the storytelling of La caperucita roja (The little red riding hood).
