You will also have the opportunity to explore the NYPL art collection and art images of the NYPL Digital Gallery. All programs are free of charge.

Write a two-page essay on a well-known African American historical figure. Explain his or her significance to the history of the United States. Best essay will receive a prize. Students will develop their creative and problem solving skills through hands-on lessons led by experienced teaching artists. Classes introduce art history topics and vocabulary which will be applied to the exploration of drawing, painting, and mixed media work. At the end of the semester, all students will have their work displayed in a student exhibition at Temple Emmanuel on May 15. REGISTRATION REQUIRED Please register your child on February 9, the first day of class.
