Celebrating Immigrant Heritage Week Josué Pagán started playing the guitar at age 15 in Puerto Rico. At 18, one year after moving to New York, and after only three months of classical guitar lessons, he competed and tied for first place in a competition for the Ralph Ritchie Memorial Music Scholarship. This scholarship allowed him to study classical guitar under guitarist and lutenist William Zito and sharpen his skills as a chamber musician with the instruction of pianist and friend, Susan Sob…

2:30 p.m.Make Music @NYPL presents Don Witter performing Latin American Guitar
Spend an afternoon of music with Don Witter at the library. He will be performing works by Ayala, Yupanqui, Morel, Cardoso, and others. Don Witter, Jr. started musical life at 4 trained as a Classical Pianist and 1st performed in public at the age of 5 at Carnegie Recital Hall. He appeared on the "TED MACK AMATEUR HOUR" and graduated from the High School of Music and Art where he was known as an accompanist for the High School Chorus and Vocal Students.
