NYPL After School is a free drop-in program for kids ages 6–12 that takes place after regular school hours on Mondays through Thursdays. Join our tutors and Teen Reading Ambassadors for homework help, reading recommendations, fun writing, STEAM, and enrichment activities—and even snacks! No need to register—just show up! Everything is free.

This program will be in-person. Join us for our teen chess hour, mainly for beginners. However, all levels of expertise are welcomed. We will go over basic beginner skills by watching and reviewing tutorial videos. Play one-on-one with Mosholu staff or bring a friend. You can also play against an online computer, and online players. Chess boards, chess pieces, and laptops for online play will be provided for in-program usage. No registration required. For teens age 13 - 18.
