Biography
The American Play Company was a business organization that handled the licensing of plays. Prior to 1914 it was involved in play production and script purchase, but after that time it dealt exclusively in representing dramatists.
Scope and Content Note
This is a synthetic collection consisting of correspondence dating from 1924 to 1934. The correspondence consists of letters and telegrams to Frances Steloff relating to Eugene O'Neill and to Howard Irving Young, as well as a letter from Sinclair Lewis to the American Play Co.
