LOCKSS Humanities Project

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) is open source software that provides a way to collect, store, preserve, and provide access to authentic local copies of e-journals. NYPL's participation focuses on poetry journals, with staff from the Humanities and Social Sciences Library responsible for selection and publisher negotiation. Technical support is provided by the Digital Library Program. Accuracy and completeness are assured through a robust, and secure, peer-to-peer polling and reputation system.
