ABOUT THE COLLECTION
A collection of 130,000 volumes supplemented by periodicals (fourth floor), and CD and audiocassette recordings of poetry, drama, and language instruction.

The collection includes:

• English and American literature
• French and Spanish literature in the original language and in English translation
• world literature in English translation
• literary criticism
• history and theory of languages
• study materials for over 100 languages and dialects.

• Online Fulltext Journals of Literary Criticism -- Most criticism is only available through paid subscriptions. However, some institutions, mostly universities, have made their work freely available. Here is a sampling, organized by subject. Another promising site, organized differently from ours, and concentrating on English and American literature is LiteraryHistory.com.
• Shakespeare Criticism Online -- Eight sites of commentary and discussion about the Bard
• Authors on the Web -- Each author has one site. Following the individuals are sites of multiple authors.
