ABOUT THE COLLECTION The Reference Collection provides a wide range of print and electronic information sources including almost 10,000 volumes of text; many electronic resources (including databases, magazines and other information not available at either the branch libraries or from home); a wide range of periodicals, including, in some cases, several years of recent issues; encyclopedias on numerous subjects and for all age ranges; consumer buying guides; business information, including contact directories in many fields, Mergent and S & P financial data and city and state civil service listings; The New York Times online from 1851 and in microfilm since 1945; and basic reference sources in many fields as well as general indexes and book reviews.
