The Bronx on the Web is a project of Bronx Branch Libraries staff. Its purpose is to be an information resource, focused on the Bronx, for Library staff and patrons and to highlight our borough's rich history and diversity via the World Wide Web.

The project was initiated in December 1996 by librarian Susan Glickman with the support of the Bronx Borough Coordinator, Mary Elizabeth Wendt. The Bronx on the Web has grown, in content and staff participation, since first going live in June 1997.

The Bronx Web Team also assists other Bronx Branch Libraries staff with Library Web projects and serves as a borough-wide coordinating committee for such projects.
