In May 1997, The Board of Trustees of the Vincent Astor Foundation, most notably its President, Brooke (Mrs. Vincent) Astor, approved a grant to The New York Public Library. The annual proceeds of this endowment are used to purchase literary fiction, non-fiction and poetry for Branch Library collections. Since its start, over 500 books have been designated as Astor titles. This bookmark highlights a few and will, we hope, lead you to seek out more of these titles.
