Do you like to laugh? Of course you do. That's why we at the @AwesomeLibrary have put together a #LaughLibrary. What better place to find a good, inexpensive laugh than at your local library?

The mission statement of the #LaughLibrary is "to assemble for the public a collection of the Library's funniest DVDs, CDs, and books, by the world's greatest comedians." The #LaughLibrary puts these comedic materials in the forefront.

The year 2012 has arrived. Cope with the increasing number of failed New Years resolutions throughout the year with laughter. As a New Yorker, this is pretty easy, as we have a great comedy scene. Below is the #LaughLibrary's list of must-see comics. Most of these comics have work that you can sample at The New York Public Library. Let's begin!

In the month of January, many great DVD movies are coming to the Library. Reserve titles now using the Library's new Catalog. Here at Dongan Hills Library, we have formed a #WUSEUM... a collection of material relating to all things Wu-Tang Clan. The collection of CDs, DVDs, and books associated with the Staten Island rap group is curated by Dongan Hills Library staff members Imer Ardolic and Steve Herman. Many of the items in our #WUSEUM are highlighted in this list!

September sees several classic movies getting the special edition treatment, such as Ben Hur, Citizen Kane, Dumbo, and Heathers. If you like catching up on TV, you'll love the NYPL in September, with Community, The Office, Glee, Big Bang Theory, Castle and Modern Family coming to DVD, to name a few. A few weeks ago I had no idea who B.o.B. aka Bobby Ray was. I don't listen to the radio often, and I'm not a huge fan of hip-hop. I did run into some buzz about him on the Internet, and heard about how he was collaborating with a wide variety of artists that I either like or find interesting (Rivers Cuomo from Weezer, T.I., Eminem, Hayley Williams from Paramore), so I thought I'd give his new cd, The Adventures of Bobby Ray a listen.

This album may be one of my favorite pop albums to come around in some time.
